Telangana State Residential College for Girls, Ramannapet, Janampally Village, Telangana
Bhumi Pooja – April 22, 2025
Janampally Village, Ramannapet, Telangana
Phase 1 Completion – October 2025
Background
The Telangana State Residential College for Girls in Ramannapet has long been a beacon of educational opportunity, admitting bright young girls through a merit-based entrance test. However, the existing infrastructure, designed for secondary-level students (5th to 10th standard), was insufficient to accommodate the upgraded junior college level, leaving over 600 students with inadequate classrooms, dormitories, dining, and laboratory facilities.
Many girls faced daily hardships: classrooms were converted into temporary dormitories at night, dining took place outdoors—often exposing students to monkey attacks, raising serious safety concerns. Laboratory spaces were insufficient, and basic amenities like toilets and water facilities were inadequate.
The project was initiated through the heartfelt appeal of Mrs. Jeevalatha, a retired lecturer of the college, and supported by Mr. Ramana Kumar, Secretary of Telangana Residential Schools. Inspired by the desire to end these struggles and provide a safe, dignified learning environment, Sumadhura Foundation committed to a comprehensive, high-budget renovation project, planned in three phases, prioritizing the most urgent issues first.
